I have never been one for working out at gyms; I like the convenience of working out at home. We are lucky to have so many options available through streaming, apps, magazines and DVD's. To compliment my winter workout of shoveling snow, raking the roof and walking in Sorels, I recently discovered Suzanne Bowen's Barre Amped DVD's.
Barre actually comes from the "bar" used during warm up and practice by ballet dancers. In my opinion, there is nothing more beautiful than a dancer's body;
it is both elegant and strong.
I have a few of Suzanne's other DVD's from the "10 Minute Solutions" series, I have workout A.D.D., another really good reason for working out at home. Suzanne is a great instructor; she describes the moves, her cues are awesome and the way she speaks is just right, encouraging even.
Barre Amped is based on dance, Pilates and yoga. DVD 4 is broken into six segments: Warm Up, Light Weight Work, Thigh Work, Seat Work, Mat Work and Stretch. I highly recommend Barre Amped 4 if you are looking for a change. Her motto of "Shake to Change" is spot on, it's freaking fantastic!
I'm starting Barre Amped 3 Cardio Fat Burn this afternoon, since sprinting in Sorels is just not a good idea. Watch for my review soon!
