Ombre is a shading of tone or color, from dark to light or light to dark.  We ombre fabric, we ombre hair, and one of the coolest places to apply this technique is in the home in the form of paint.  There are numerous options and styles to achieve ombre, I however prefer a not so perfect line, a sloping effect if you will, and a lot of blending.  Ombre is the perfect option for those who would like to inject some color, in particular darker saturated color, but are afraid of committing to a whole room.  Ombre is also a super fresh alternative to the "accent wall". 

 

 

 

 

This wall would be even better had the floor board been painted a deeper purple.
